2. He Doesn't Fit The Mould
We all get this concept but Vince McMahon seemingly doesn't. You CAN be from somewhere other than the United States or Canada and be a good person. It's a sobering thought, I know.
WWE's schtick of having an evil foreigner is outdated, not only in society in general but in terms of his company as well. WWE is a global brand these days which means that whenever they try the patriotic American angle on for size it completely alienates a large chunk of their audience. You'd think they'd stop but this year it's as strong a concept as ever.
This shouldn't count against Shinsuke, but you can just imagine upon seeing him getting cheered the world over, Vince McMahon sitting back in his office chair with a look of bewilderment across his face. "Well he's foreign, dammit?! Why do they love him?!"
McMahon is stuck in his ways, and it doesn't look like he's going to change any time soon. Hopefully he sees just how captivating Nakamura is, without putting too much of his own spin on the character, and lets him fly.
For that to happen however, it's going to take a lot to convince McMahon that it's the right thing to do.
