5. Giving Lower Card Performers A Chance To Showcase Their Talent

In current day WWE, the lower card performers are nothing but an afterthought to the powers that be. I understand that their focus is on the main event stars as they are the selling point, the wrestlers the fans pay to see, but this shouldn€™t mean that lower card performers should just be glossed over. With over 70 wrestlers currently signed to the WWE, there needs to be an outlet in which the lower card performers can gain exposure. With Raw averaging 8 matches a week and Smackdown 5, there just isn€™t enough time to give everyone a match, although that doesn€™t mean they just shouldn€™t try. Looking at this past week as an example, out of the 5 Smackdown matches, 12 of the wrestlers featured had already wrestled on Raw the previous Monday and the other 6 who hadn€™t, have wrestled multiple times on Raw in the past month. With 13 matches and 34 positions, the fact that 24 of those positions are taken by only 12 wrestlers is a frightening statistic. By reintroducing the brand extension, wrestlers won€™t be appearing twice in one week thus opening up the opportunity for lower card performers to make a name for themselves. The separation of brands will result in the WWE diversifying their choices as to which wrestlers appear each and every week.
