4. A Greater Focus On The Minor Titles
--> The Intercontinental Championship and The United States Championship are currently stuck in creative limbo. While they are both currently held and are contested for occasionally, saying that they are practically irrelevant wouldnt be too far from the truth. The fans just dont seem to care about the titles, and why should they? They are given no reason to. I challenge you to think of a time recently where a wrestler has held either championship with the same conviction they would if it were a major title. In the past, holding these titles was considered a real accomplishment that solidified a wrestlers status in the business. Now, it means close to nothing. I may be being a little harsh, but there is simply no denying that something must be done to reinvigorate the minor titles. With only two singles titles per show, the focus will be shifted back onto the minor titles and will once again be shown the same respect they once knew. Young and upcoming wrestlers will treat the titles like world championships, leading to feuds based around the titles. As it stands, matches for the minor titles, as and when they happen, are booked seemingly at random and with no prior build-up. With less main event talent per show, the creative team will put more focus on building stories featuring the minor titles and the midcard performers who hold them.
