5 Reasons Why WWE Should Reintroduce The Brand Extension

3. The Major Titles Will Become Equally Sought After

With the current overflow of main event talent, the unification of the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship couldn€™t have come at a worse time. With only one title to compete for, the majority of the company€™s top performers are left without purpose, passing the time by fading in and out of various feuds. With half of the main eventers going to Raw and half to Smackdown and the two titles being assigned to one brand, the number of main event positions increases heavily. By having two world champions at the same time, there will be greater diversity in the matches we see, with different combinations of wrestlers being booked into matches. The number of fresh, new feuds will increase as opposed to rehashing older feuds (I€™m looking at you Cena and Orton.) After the demise of the brand extension, and the introduction of both major titles featuring on Raw, there simply wasn€™t enough time for feuds to be built up for both titles appropriately. There were times in which the WWE Championship felt much more important than the World Heavyweight Championship; this isn€™t the way it should be. By placing each title at the top of their respective show it once again heightens the value of the title and the sense of the champion truly being the best because of their status.
