5 Reasons WWE Should Hire CM Punk (... & 5 Reasons They Shouldn't!)
8. Should - He's A Proven Money-Maker

Of course, while ratings matter, in the words of Swedish popstar Meja "It's all about the money/It's all 'bout the dum dum dumdumdumdum". Wise words, words that WWE will surely take to heart when contemplating whether or not to reach out to CM Punk.
In this regard, WWE have nothing to be concerned about as Punk brings a lot of dollars to the table. All Out 2021 - where Punk made his debut - still has the highest buy rate of any AEW PPV (205,000 buys), and PPVs that Punk either main-evented (Double or Nothing 2022-160,000 buys) or had a prominent role on the card (Revolution 2022 - 160,000 buys) did far better than PPVs Punk was absent for. (Forbidden Door 2022 - 110,000 buys).
Punk also spent his AEW career shifting crate-loads of merchandise, being the company's top-ranked merch seller in 2021 (Impressive, as he only joined the company in August that year), the second-biggest merch seller of 2022 (coming runner-up to Danhausen in a very nice, very evil surprise), and wound up his AEW tenure by topping the merch rankings once again in July 2023.
Like him or not, Punk makes serious money. On the other hand...
