5 Reasons WWE Should Sign Samoa Joe (And 4 Reasons They Shouldn't)

4. His Name Value Should Be Seen As A Positive

A lot of wrestling fans know who Samoa Joe is. If they watched TNA at all in the last ten years then they probably saw him in a featured role at some point. He's a hard guy to miss. Having that fanbase already in is something he can use to his advantage. Look at the recent WWE NXT debuts of guys like Finn Balor, Hideo Itami and Kevin Owens. All of them were treated like a big deal because of where they were before WWE. While WWE didn't go out of their way to say this is Prince Devitt from Japan, this is KENTA from New Japan and this is Kevin Steen from Ring of Honor, they just assumed that people would know because the fans at NXT are hardcore wrestling fans. A wrestler that goes from TNA to WWE in 2015 is not the same as a guy going from WCW to WWE twenty years ago. TNA is not as big as WCW was. It's really not that close either. A guy going from TNA to WWE still has a lot of value, though. People that follow wrestling know who Samoa Joe is. WWE will call himself else if he goes there, but they're not going to be able to hide him from what he was and that's okay. Consider his past as something you can use to your advantage. It's not something WWE should shy away from.
