Before becoming Kevin Owens Kevin Steen was a standout performer on the independent scene, and as such it made sense for him to go up against Nakamura when the latter made an appearance in Ring of Honor in 2014. The match saw Steen work a style more familiar to Nakamura, and the two managed to put something together that kept the crowd involved throughout. Two more popular stars at the time you couldn't find, and they didn't disappoint. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the flow of the match showed two individuals working at the top of their respective games. Steve Corino and Kevin Kelly put in a good effort on commentary too, something that isn't often said about ROH. All the big spots where hit, and it eventually took three Boma Ye knees for Nakamura to put Steen away.
