The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar sued WWE in 2006 because they prevented him from working elsewhere. Lesnar quit the company in 2004 even though he had a long term contract and WWE felt like if he wasn't going to work for them then there was nobody else that would be allowed to employ him either. Lesnar's lawyers claimed that it wasn't fair. Here's how Lesnar's lawyers stated their case in 2006: "Lesnar now desires to work and earn a living in the only occupation for which he has been trained and which he knows, professional wrestling, and/or the occupation for which his physical gifts and training as an amateur wrestler make him particularly well suited, professional combat sports." WWE wasn't shy about taking shots at Lesnar. This is from their lawyer Jerry McDevitt: "He didn't have two nickels to rub together before he met the WWE. He's basically asking a judge to rewrite his settlement agreement. We don't think we've been dealt fairly by this man from day one." The lawsuit ended up getting dismissed in June of 2006. Lesnar was able to work elsewhere. After doing some wrestling and MMA in Japan, he went to UFC in February 2008, had a lot of success there and became one of their biggest draws ever. As we all know, Lesnar came back to WWE in 2012. Two years after his return, he ended The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak at 21 wins and he also beat John Cena for the WWE Title at SummerSlam.
