5 Stars Who Should Be Thrilled Triple H Is In Charge Of WWE (And 5 Who Should Be Worried)
7. Thrilled - Bobby Roode
GLORIOUS!
Even before Vince’s shocking retirement, there were reports that Bobby Roode had returned to the epic entrance on house shows and his split from Dolph Ziggler has all but been confirmed by The Show Off’s solo return to Monday Night Raw.
This is a good thing. With Triple H in charge of creative, it could be a glorious thing! (See what I did there?)
The comparisons, in-character and in-ring between the King of Kings and Bobby Roode are apt, and it's not surprising that he gravitated towards Roode when he signed with NXT. Whilst Roode cut his teeth impressively in IMPACT, that was dialled up in NXT, and Roode looked a dead cert to be a main event concern.
It never happened after the ridiculous decision was made to debut Roode as a babyface. Vince saw little value in Roode as a singles star and packed him off into makeshift tag teams with Chad Gable and the aforementioned Ziggler. Whilst the Dirty Dawgz were a solid addition to the tag ranks, their days are clearly over.
There may be hope yet for Roode, however, as Triple H saw his value in NXT, and could see the veteran as a valuable asset near the top of the card.
