5 Things AEW MUST Do In 2021 (And 5 They Must Avoid)

1. Put The World Title On Sting

This is it: the big NOPE.

All Elite Wrestling won't put its World Title on Sting. No move would destroy everything that promotion purports to be like a 61-year-old WCW legend sweeping into the main event scene and taking the top prize in a very WWE move, making this comfortably the most obvious thing for AEW to dodge in 2021.

The level of trust Tony Khan and co. have built with the audience suggests they'll avoid this more than anything. Nothing about the company's current booking practices could lead to the 'Icon' taking the World Title from a Kenny Omega or other heel champion. Nonetheless, how bad an idea this would be necessitates its inclusion here.

Sting his a huge global wrestling star whose debut generated mass excitement, but that's the only argue for strapping him. Nothing else stacks up. He hasn't worked a match in years and may not be able to take a bump, let alone compete outside the cinematic arena, so while AEW do need to evolve his role beyond "hits the ring and stares down Team Taz", this ain't it, chief.
