5 Things AEW MUST Do In 2021 (And 5 They Must Avoid)

2. A Complete Impact Wrestling Invasion

The Impact Wrestling/AEW deal is ticking along nicely.

Don Callis' union with Kenny Omega was born of a red-hot angle drawing from years of history, and their promos have been excellent. Jon Moxley is established as the perfect face to chase 'The Best Bout Machine'. Last week's "Bullet Club: reunion was hot, with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows a perfect tandem to bring over from Nashville. On Saturday, the follically-challenged duo team with Kenny to face Rich Swann and the Motor City Machine Guns at Impact's Hard to Kill pay-per-view.

At this stage in the game, it's important not to overcook it. A full-on WCW/WWE style invasion of either promotion would be just that.

Nevermind that such storylines rarely play out in a satisfying way, Impact's star power, unfortunately, isn't there. The promotion doesn't have an army strong enough to compete with AEW's biggest and baddest. Women's division aside (Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo would both rule AEW's scene), Impact's thin top-of-the-card ranks host Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards, Moose, and others. Good wrestlers, but stars the calibre of Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and Cody Rhodes?
