5 Things We HATE About WWE NXT 2.0 So Far
1. Incredibly Short Matches
In the Wednesday Night Wars between NXT and AEW, each show offered something different. While you couldn't always rely on NXT for great promos, you could always see great matches on the shows. However, in the changeover to NXT 2.0, that has been taken away.
On the debut edition of NXT 2.0, six matches on the show went under five minutes. Each one was a glorified squash match. Even the main event of that show, a Fatal Four Way for the NXT Championship went ten minutes. Usually, fans could expect an NXT main event to last at least double that.
This is the biggest loss for NXT. Fans of high workrate are simply going to stop watching. Long, indie style matches are a thing of the past and seeing weekly squash matches doesn't sound very appealing in the long run. NXT needs to rethink the formatting of its weekly product. Is developmental enjoyable to watch? And how do they strike the balance of developmental and work rate?
That is their problem to solve.
