5 Things WWE Must Do With Bray Wyatt (And 5 They Mustn't)

1. Mustn’t - Put Him In The Title Picture

The Fiend Bray Wyatt Fiend Title
WWE

… he can’t be going after any titles. It’s the age-old problem with supernatural wrestlers: why oh why would The Fiend Bray Wyatt be interested in winning the Universal Title?

The first Fiend title run, and its run up, represent the nadir of that character. First, they declined to pull the trigger when they should have in the Rollins cell match. Then, they made the switch during a low quality Saudi show. And to cap it off, they quickly panicked, putting the belt on Goldberg at another Saudi show to make it clear exactly where Wyatt fit into the pecking order.

None of that is Bray’s fault, really, but his character simply doesn’t fit with the idea of pursuing a sporting title. He wants to run a cult, corrupt hearts and minds, scare folk, but also carry around and defend an ugly blue bit of leather.

Not only does Bray Wyatt have no need for a title, it actually diminishes the character, taking a spooky creature straight out of our nightmares and giving him professional ambition. He’s his own singular thing, and he needs to stay that way.
