5 Things You Didn't Know Were BANNED In TNA

3. Throat Slashing Gestures

Anyone who dares to perform a throat slashing/cutting gesture in front of the cameras will find a hole in their pockets. The taunt (a firm favourite of The Undertaker throughout his career, and in various WWE video games when you're trying to build up your finisher bar) carries an automatic $100 fine each time it appears.

Repeat offenders will likely get into deeper water if they don't heed a slap (ahem) on the wrist too. Not a literal slap, mind you. As aforementioned, that's on the ban list itself! Seriously though, wrestlers performing the cut throat taunt used to be a staple on shows, both in TNA and elsewhere.

Chris Benoit performed it regularly before hitting his diving head butt move from the top rope, and 'Taker brought it into the main event scene years before the Canadian was even in WWE. It's unclear whether or not the grisly end to Benoit's life has anything to do with this ban, or if it's just something TV companies and sponsors don't want to see generally.

The timing of this internal memo (which leaked) coincided with TNA deepening their working relationship with WWE. So, perhaps it was a TKO call more than a TNA one. Either way, workers who ignore it and do their best 'Deadman' impression will have a lighter wallet by the end of the night.

As with everything else on this list, it just isn't worth the hassle. Some fans may disagree, but no match lives or dies solely on the strength of a good throat slashing gesture. The old cross handed 'it's done' taunt does the same job.
