5 Times WWE Dropped the Ball With Epic Storylines

2. The Anonymous Raw General Manager

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIP4Qly9XBI There was a hell of a lot of build-up with this storyline even though it lasted for a really short while. There were rumours floating about all over the internet of who the anonymous General Manager would be but no major hints were given on WWE TV. It€™s easy to see now why this was the case; the writers had as much idea about who the GM was as we did! The Anonymous General Manager was quite over as a heel character, considering it was just a computer. It€™d have been a fine opportunity to shock the audience with a reveal of someone that we just wouldn€™t expect to be favouring the heels of the roster. Upon Triple H€™s promotion to Chief Operating Officer, the Anonymous General Manager was forgotten. For a while I wondered if it would make a return but that wasn€™t the case. The WWE writers didn€™t see fit to conclude the storyline at this time€until 2012. The right time to reveal the anonymous General Manager was 2011, not on the 1000th episode of Raw when the angle was almost completely forgotten. For whatever reason, WWE chose to fill in this plot hole from 12 months previous and the anonymous General Manager turned out to be Hornswoggle. I think it€™s safe to say that WWE failed miserably in the execution of this storyline and they missed a huge opportunity with it. I think I€™m not alone in feeling that the angle should have just been left forgotten in 2011.
