5 Times WWE Failed John Cena At WrestleMania

4. His Low-Key Return At 'Mania 32

Two years later, Cena was back in the ring with The Wyatt Family and used to eat up time on an already overloaded show.

Cena has made a habit of making superhuman-like recoveries from injury. After defying doctors by taking only three months to heal a serious muscle tear in 2007-2008, John was at it again in time for 'Mania 32. There, after going under the knife for shoulder surgery in early January 2016, he looked well-muscled and healthy in April.

It was a bit of a flat comeback though. Cena's big role on the WrestleMania card was to aid The Rock in fending off Wyatt and clan only to then play best pals with a former foe. After that, Cena wasn't seen on programming again until late-May, meaning his grand return had been a time filler.

Pictures from the event show Cena largely standing in the background as Rocky runs through his familiar catchphrase routine. We really didn't need that reaffirmation that both were now best buds, WWE.
