5 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 8)

Ups...

5. Making The Most Of It

Lucha Bros The Acclaimed
AEW

OK, so few genuinely believed that The Acclaimed were rolling into Rampage and taking those tag straps from the Lucha Bros. However, Penta and Rey Fenix had a solid bout with The Butcher and Blade back in September, and this was more of the same. The only difference was that it ran approx four minutes shorter.

It felt like more than that.

Admittedly, the match could've done with another five mins or so to really get going, but AEW didn't waste any time. The Acclaimed jumped the champs before the bell, and then everyone dashed through a nice series of spots before the finish. The live crowd in Philly were into it too - they even chanted, "This Is Awesome".

This tidy little title match was a damn fine example of four guys maximising their minutes. It's tough to give everyone ample time on a 60-minute show (45-50 with ad breaks), so they did what they could here. Positioning Lucha Bros as fighting champions who take on all comers works for them as well.
