5 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 8)

4. Fine Follow Up Squash

Jade Cargill Skye Blue
AEW

This writer literally just spat his dummy out about the treatment of WWE's women's division on SmackDown, so this might seem a little rich. Jade Cargill vs. Skye Blue, despite an even shorter length by comparison, was a bit different though; this was clearly presented as a squash.

Plus, Cargill has momentum, which nobody in WWE's Queen's Crown tourney can boast. This was a nice way to follow up on Jade's competitive three-way win over Nyla Rose and Thunder Rosa on last week's Rampage, and it moves her one step closer to almost-inevitably becoming the first TBS Champ when AEW are ready to crown one.

To recap the differences, Cargill hammered Skye and proved her dominance. Meanwhile, over on WWE's side, SmackDown's women continue to flip-flop week-to-week without establishing any sort of momentum to speak of.

This squash was fine, inoffensive and fits Cargill's rise up the card.
