5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (Dec 3)

2. That Main Event

FTR Tully Blanchard

If you're a tag-team wrestling nut, then Rampage's headliner is a love letter to you.

FTR vs. PAC and Penta was every bit as good as it would've been had Rey Fenix been able to be there. That's huge praise, because FTR and Lucha Bros have worked some total scorchers in the recent past. The way PAC slipped on a springboard attempt, then thought twice before doing another dive, was killer.

His work was rock solid despite the eye patch gimmick, and the fact they made it part of the bout's story was sweet. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood tried to cheat at every turn (like good heel tags should), whereas Penta and PAC did everything in their power to up the tempo.

This was all just super-slick. AEW handed the foursome between 18-20 minutes, told them to go out there and perform, and that was that. There was no meddling from creative, and no annoying gimmicky tacked on stipulations - this was pure tag-team wrestling brilliance.
