5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (July 22)

Down...

1. This Is All They Have For Hangman?

Hangman Page John Silver

Pitchforks away, Dark Order-lovers.

There was nothing wrong with the opening tag match at all, but it's pretty depressing that Hangman Page has tumbled this far down the card. AEW's presentation of the match, which was a workmanlike effort pitting Page/John Silver vs. The Butcher/Blade, also clashed with the commentary.

JR called Page "a global star", and credited All Elite for giving him that platform. Yes, although maybe it would be better if that "global star" wasn't mixing it with guys a rung or two below him on the ladder. That's not meant as a diss to Silver or anyone else, but...Hangman is supposed to be one of AEW's top names.

He's just sort of there at the moment, and doesn't seem to have any direction to speak of. Tony Khan can't let this go on for too much longer, because Page will become a lesser star if it does. Give the man something meaningful to do, for crying out loud.
