5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (July 22)

Ups...

5. Something Brewing?

Britt Baker Jamie Hayter
AEW

Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker's double-team flurry towards the end of their own tag bout was a sight to behold - Hayter positively smashed Ashley D'Amboise with a forearm to the back of the head before the finish, and Baker's Lockjaw is a guaranteed reaction from live crowds every time.

This was solid stuff.

Better yet, Baker and Hayter didn't make Skye Blue or D'Amboise look like total losers. Compare this tag with the Kris Statlander and Athena vs. The Renegade Twins one from last week. It's night and day. The heels gave their plucky babyface opponents a bit of shine here or there, which was appreciated.

One still has to question the purpose of establishing these female duos when they don't have titles to fight for yet, but that's coming and this was well-executed. Here's hoping Skye and Ashley get some opportunities off the back of this, because they both deserve it.
