5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 11)

2. Gunn Club Shines

Christian Cage Jurassic Express The Gunn Club
AEW

Positioning The Gunn Club as short-lived challengers for Jurassic Express worked, and the Austin/Colten duo deserve praise for coming on leaps and bounds since they were basically paid crowd members during the pandemic. Billy must be proud of his sons for their hard work.

They justified AEW's faith in that main event.

Gunn Club excel at playing cocky young punks who believe they're destined to hold the straps someday. That confidence isn't misplaced, 'cause they probs will get a run if they keep on improving. AEW rewards those who catch fire, after all. Just look at Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus for proof of that.

Perhaps the only negative here is that AEW put too much focus on Billy and Christian Cage at ringside during key parts of the title match. That's a minor gripe though, because Gunn is obviously a huge part of the Club's package. This was a fun mini-feud that elevated some fresh faces.
