5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 3 - Results & Review)

Ups...

5. No More BS (But More Top Commentary)

Excalibur Tony Schiavone Paul Wight
AEW

Paul Wight will team with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi to face the Don Callis Family soon (peak 2023 weirdness there), but his real contributions come outside the ring. For example, behind the commentary desk. Let it be known that the one-time Big Show is real f'n good on comms.

No, really.

Check out Rampage for proof. Wight shone alongside Excalibur and Tony Schiavone. He had something unique to say about every single match AEW put out there, and seemed excited regardless of what he was calling. That's often half the battle when it comes to announcing, but Paul's banter never seems forced.

The giant offered top analysis whether he was wowing his way through the opening Lucha spotfest or explaining why Marina Shafir needs to be taken more seriously in the women's division. His commentary on the main between Daniel Garcia and Trent Beretta was also fab.
