5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sep 10)

3. Simple-But-Effective Promos

Pro wrestling can weigh itself down sometimes by trying to be too clever. At All Out, AEW said 'f*ck that' and just went for broke by giving fans everything they dreamed of and more. Ruby Soho came out, Adam Cole debuted, and then Bryan Danielson had everyone chanting "Yes! Yes! Yes!" like it was 2014 again.

Except it isn't. It's 2021, and Bryan still kicks ass.

He and Cole cut back-to-back promos on the latest Rampage. Will these short speeches be remembered forever like the greats? Nah, they won't, but they were damn effective at explaining what both guys hope to achieve around these parts. In short, this kind of freedom to talk about whatever the hell they please must be gratifying.

Cole threatened both Danielson and Christian, then Bryan passed him over by focusing exclusively on Kenny Omega. That, of course, will give Mr. 'Bay Bay' something else to hang onto over the next few weeks. They'll have a match somewhere down the road, no doubt.
