5 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Mar 28)

1. A Lame Introduction

A couple of hot new signings were introduced to the NXT audience last night. The first was extremely well done, as we'll get to in a moment, but the second? Not so much.

Celebrated independent high-flier Ricochet appeared as the episode drew to a close. William Regal was talking to Cathy Kelley backstage, stating that he'd finalised the last participant in TakeOver: New Orleans' North American Title match, then disappeared back into his office. 'The Future Of Flight' emerged soon after, smiling at Kelley, before walking away with an "I'll see you at TakeOver."

It was a surprisingly low-key introduction for one of the most hyped wrestlers on the planet, and someone who's seemingly set to become a major player in NXT. EC3 is the bigger name in a mainstream sense, but the vast majority of NXT's supposedly "smarter" audience should know who Ricochet is, and WWE's decision to present him in such an angle is puzzling. 10 seconds at the end of the show for one of the brand's most exciting signings in years... really, guys?
