5 Ups & 2 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Mar 8)
4. Even More Excellence
The main event for the episode saw yet another brilliant match from Pentagon Jr. and Fenix. The Lucha Bros have become synonymous with putting on some of the best matches in independent wrestling, with their match here against Rascalz members Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz being no different.
From the stiff strikes to the tantalising tag team combos to the sheer athleticism from all four men, it made for one hell of a show-closing contest. One spot in particular saw Wentz, who was stood at ringside, launch Xavier over the turnbuckle from the floor on to their opponents in a jaw-dropping scene. Despite a close near fall following a Final Flash from Xavier, a superkick and Pentagon Driver combination put an end to any hopes The Rascalz had of a victory.
As soon as the bell rang to start the match, you just knew you were in for a treat. Impact seem to be using these sort of guys to guarantee at least one fantastic match every week, reminding everyone watching what the company's capable of producing. Seeing as The Lucha Bros were confronted post-match by LAX's manager Konnan, it looks like we'll be getting another excellent match to add to the ever-growing list.
