5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (29 Nov - Results & Review)

1. Jacob Fatu Seizes The Advantage

Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu could only ever be a hard-hitting main event, and they didn't disappoint. Fatu's intensity is top notch, and Jey is sufficiently over enough with fans that they'll always root hard for him when he's in peril. Want to know something else interesting? The pair didn't try to do too much in terms of fast-paced spots until closer to the end. Instead, they kicked the crap out of each other and then set about the task of making Jacob look like a true monster.

He cut a scary figure when he hit a Samoan Drop on the announce desk (which didn't give), then dragged Uso into the ring to kill him off with a springboard moonsault. It made sense to give Solo's heel team the advantage at WarGames, and Nick Aldis banning everybody from ringside avoided the usual boring big brawl these 'go home' matches before a multi-man would normally get.

Besides, the women had already filled that quota earlier in the night.

Shout out to the group of kids at ringside behind the announce table. They added to the drama and excitement by losing their minds for Jey, chanting "YEET! YEET! YEET!", and then looking totally crushed when Fatu gutted their favourite to take the numbers advantage on the PLE. That shows two things: Live atmosphere matters as a TV viewer, and Uso is very much entrenched as a singles hero to the younger demographic following WWE.

This probs won't be the last time you see these dudes go one on one. Good!
