5 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (April 20 - Results & Review)
Ups...
5. A Fun Opener Regardless
While three heels would've been better used in place of Top Flight and Action Andretti, Collision's opener was still a fun contest in terms of in-ring.
Yes, those boos at times for Dante Martin, Darius Martin, and Andretti didn't do anything for these younger talents, but the three did at least get to show off plenty of their energetic, electric offense. In fact, one could argue that the trio took a little too much of the match. Either way, the two teams meshed well together and the veteran team threesome had the crowd eating out of the palm of their hands, whether that was Mark Briscoe's ever-fun attacks, Adam Copeland's classic big spots, or simply clamouring for Eddie Kingston to get tagged in and do Eddie Kingston things.
Briscoe pinned Andretti for the win after hitting the Froggy Bow, which itself was preceded by a Kingston backfist and a Copeland spear to Action. For 12 minutes, it was a brisk, balls-to-the-wall opener that got the Peoria Civic Center rocking.
