5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 13 - Results & Review)

Ups...

5. Paul Wight On Comms

Excalibur Tony Schiavone Paul Wight
AEW

Make Paul Wight on Rampage commentary a regular thing, please.

He, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone make a pretty fab announce team. Wight is knowledgeable, well-spoken and very deft at putting across his excitement for even the most minor of details about AEW's ongoing stories. For example, the way he discussed Jay Lethal's dismissal of Eddie Kingston as ROH World Champ was great.

Honestly, the former Big Show nails his announcing gigs every single time, so it'd be cool if TK rewarded that by putting him out there weekly. Rampage is the ideal platform for Paul to showcase his skills - he's way less comedic than someone like Taz, and doesn't chatter on about his own work like Chris Jericho.

That's not meant as a burial of either guy, but yeah. Paul Wight gets it, and understands that putting passion into each match/segment really translates to the viewer back home. If he's excited, then you should be excited. That sort of thing.

Top work from the big man.
