2. New Day Continues To Splinter

Leave it to R-Truth to be the cause of the New Day’s split.

That’s clearly a joke, but Truth’s run-ins with Pete Dunne certainly contributed to the ongoing fracturing between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on Raw. Dunne confronted Truth about getting his name wrong once again, and Kofi stepped in to defend his buddy, despite Woods’ protestations.

This set up a match between Kofi and Pete, which chugged along fine while Xavier paced on the outside observing that they didn’t need to be there fighting Truth’s battles for him. Still, Woods was there to support Kingston, and he added a clothesline to Dunne behind the referee’s back for good measure.

However, Kofi saw the interference and argued with Woods, which left him exposed for a Bitter End and the loss. This only served to further the dissention between the two New Day men, as their friendship becomes more and more strained. It’s clear they want to be there for each other, but they’re rapidly reaching the “irreconcilable differences” part of their relationship.

This story is moving along nicely… and presumably sadly for New Day fans. Still, it’s consistently one of the better parts of Raw these days.
