Love it, hate it, or tolerate it, the Bloodline Civil War is the main storyline in WWE at the moment, so it was only fitting that the story reached Monday nights in full force this week, though it mercifully was limited to a series of backstage segments.
Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso were at Raw to hunt for a fifth member of their WarGames team against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline. That led to some interesting conversations, with Jey chatting with Rey Mysterio, Sami approaching Seth Rollins, and Jimmy hollering at Bron Breakker. Rey and Seth turned down the offer, but Breakker’s answer was not revealed.
Rollins would have a run-in with Solo and Jacob Fatu in the parking lot, where Seth admitted that he’d never team with Roman Reigns again (he really laid into Sami earlier about it), but he’d also never join forces with a wannabe Roman like Sikoa.
The reactions were pretty predictable here, with Sami and the Usos acknowledging that no one on the roster really wants to team with them – after all, they spent years tormenting wrestlers and dominating the world and tag title scenes. Rollins’ reaction was particularly poignant, as he pointed out that he sacrificed months off his career to bring Reigns down and now Zayn wanted him to help build the “tyrant” back up.
The interesting play is Breakker, who wasn’t around for any of the Bloodline dominance and also was scouted by Paul Heyman in NXT. Throw in his staredown with Fatu recently and this one actually has legs. The fun will be seeing how this continues during the next couple weeks to find a fifth man.
