5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 5)

1. The Crowd Turns On Liv Morgan

YIKES!

Fans in attendance chanted, "You Tapped Out" relentlessly at Liv Morgan, and she was visibly rattled by the idea that peeps might turn on her. Trying to salvage things, Liv justified "her sh*t" by saying she only tapped at SummerSlam when she thought the ref had already counted to three.

That didn't do much to make Morgan look like a heroic babyface, to be honest. She can't be blamed for the pay-per-view finish (which shouldn't have happened and didn't do much for Ronda Rousey either), but haphazardly palming off fan unrest was not a great move.

Recent reports suggest that WWE plans to give workers more freedom on the mic going forwards. This promo could act as a teachable moment for that. It only fanned the flames of annoyance with Liv's booking and runs the risk of making her look like a snot-nosed brat.
