5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Jan 19)

2. Dragon vs. Dinosaur

Luchasaurus Brandon Cutler
AEW

Dragon vs. Dinosaur is a ridiculous concept, even in professional wrestling, but these are mere aesthetic concepts for two relatively traditional performers. Brandon Cutler is a high-flyer, Luchasaurus is an agile big man with immense power. It's a simple stylistic clash and these two worked it well.

This was a cracking Dark opener. Cutler started hot, going for an immediate pin. He paid for this. Luchasaurus bashed Brandon around ringside and kicked him over the barricade, working like he was punishing Cutler for his earlier insolence. Cutler's slipperiness and superior speed carved him several openings, as they should have, and he bumped like a trooper to make Luchasaurus' work look extra starchy.

His eight-match winning streak came to an end here, but this was one of Cutler's more impressive AEW performances. Strong stuff from both men.
