5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (27 April)

2. Murderhawk Murdered

Wardlow Lance Archer
AEW

Wardlow's monster hunt continued last night. Lance Archer was presented as a bigger hurdle than The Butcher, but, with MJF and Shawn Spears watching on from safety, the Murderhawk Monster was felled by the babyface stud's incredible bursts of athleticism.

Lance set the tone by diving on Wardlow as his handcuffs were being removed before the bell. That's when Lucha Wardlow came out. MJF's former bodyguard dazzled with a ridiculous running headscissor takedown, shockingly quick transitions, and more, demonstrating agility and poise belying his colossal frame. Archer, meanwhile, showed he was no slouch in this department either, delivering his trademark rope-walk Moonsault from the top rope.

But Wardlow edged him out. The senton not employed since he wrestled Cody Rhodes in early 2020 subdued Lance enough for Wardlow to conduct the Symphony. Five powerbombs later, Archer was beaten, with Wardlow's thunderous reception marking this another complete, objective success in making him look like the baddest man on the planet.

Next week, another very large human being enters the fray in IMPACT Wrestling's W. Morrissey, the former Big Cass, who was teased in a backstage segment later in the night.
