5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 16)
1. Another Ad Break Gusher
Admittedly, this was slightly less-egregious than prior picture-in-picture moments because it was described as an opportunistic moment by the announcers, but can we stop with blood during ad breaks please? Spots like Sammy Guevara ripping Jon Moxley's ear out and being a vicious little git need to be full-screen.
Is that too much to ask? Sort it, Santa.
Seeing some claret pour down the side of Jon's head and hearing Tony Schiavone explain what happened is way less impactful than actually see Guevara be a brutal sh*t outside the ring. So, AEW saw fit to show Sammy and Tay Melo kissing with Moxley's blood (yuck), but not to show what caused that blood flow in the first place?
To recap, Rampage has featured piledrivers on the ring steps, babyface comebacks, hot tags and a few bloodletting moments during commercial breaks over the past few months. That's ridiculous, and it shows a lack of care and attention for the show's formatting.
