5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Grand Slam (Sept 22 - Results & Review)

3. Too Samey To Stand Out

The Dark Order Scissor

Rinse and repeat for this too.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn defending their AEW Trios Titles vs. The Dark Order might've worked out better had it not been stuck right in there middle of a show already rammed with other tag and trios bouts. That was a mistake, and it was therefore impossible for these dudes to stand out from the crowd.

As a result, their match was just kinda there. Anyone who reads these Rampage reviews regularly will know yours truly wasn't buzzed about John Silver, Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno challenging for the titles in the first place, but he was willing to give it a fair crack. Tony Khan didn't do these guys any favours though.

Max Caster kicking out of an f'n belt shot was also a tad random. Agents/the wrestlers didn't need to stick that in there, because then Max had to recover far too quickly so he was up for the finishing sprint. Man, some of these AEW matches could use some heavy editing before they hit the ring.
