5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 5 - Results & Review)

1. The Hardys Acting…Heel?!

Matt Jeff Hardy Private Party

AEW has this fan's attention following that Hardy-led promo.

Matt and Jeff were really condescending towards Private Party backstage, and things almost got spicy once Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen realised what was going on. Going the arrogant legend route with The Hardys could give them a spark in 2024, and it does give them something to talk about beyond the elusive tag title reign they've been prattling on about for far too long.

The promo opened with Jeff getting passive aggressive about Rampage as a show - he said "someone" should book them on Dynamite so they can pop the ratings there. Then, Matt was a bit of a d*ck to Party for no good reason, and Jeff placed a Hardys t-shirt right over Quen's head just because he could.

Let's see where this goes. The Hardys shouldn't be a focal point on programming in the new year, but there are certainly way worse ideas than finding out if they'd work as heels this deep into their run. Playing the role of "GOATS" who believe their own hype but think they're doing everyone a favour by sharing TV time with them sounds like it has legs.
