5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 5 - Results & Review)

3. Tension, Tension, Tension!

Jay Lethal Jeff Jarrett
AEW

Don't sleep on this.

Friday's show spotlighted a brief promo exchange between regular pals Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett that could be going places. Jarrett blamed Lethal for the team's lack of success, and pointed to his struggles in the Continental Classic tournament. Jay didn't appreciate that, and lashed out at Jeff in return.

Both Sonjay Dutt (who had called the meeting to discuss lingering tensions) and Karen Jarrett tried to keep the peace and broke up a face-to-face that threatened to boil over. Throughout, Jeff and Jay realistically needled one another but didn't look prepared to come to blows. In other words, they acted like actual human beings.

All Elite has a choice here. They could split the team, but it'd be much more fun if this argument actually made the duo stronger and led to another stab at the tag titles. Why not? Jarrett has been a fab addition to the roster, and Lethal proved how useful he is during the CC.
