5 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 14)

3. Pray For Swinger

Unless something changes, The Finesse and Bench Press Express has reached its inevitable conclusion. With Johnny Swinger previously being banned from ringside for Chris Bey's X Division Championship match against defending champion Willie Mack, 'The Swing Man' had done all he possibly could to ensure referee Brandon Tolle overturned his decision. It was never explained why Tolle has this sort of power - it's like when Finlay allowed Becky Lynch to enter the 2019 women's Royal Rumble Match. Who's putting these people in charge?

The man in stripes would indeed change his mind, allowing Swinger to be in the corner of 'The Ultimate Finesser' for his championship challenge, only for Bey to confess his using of Swinger to backstage reporter Gia Miller.

This is perhaps the worst thing that could have happened for the pairing. Johnny Swinger had always been a Down on these columns, until being paired with Chris Bey. Together, the duo were extremely enjoyable, with Bey bringing out a decent side to 'The Swing Man'. Now that he's on his own though, it's possible that Swinger could resort back to his old tricks, something that would only cause some problems for the former ECW star. It was always going to come to an end eventually of course, but it shouldn't have ended this early.
