5 Ups & 4 Downs from WWE Raw (16 June - Results & Review)

1. A Chaotic Main Event

Fans watching the Raw main event probably needed a scorecard – or at least the ability to rewind and rewatch the final five minutes – to keep track of everything that happened.

There was a lot to like during the body of the match, with Rusev and Sheamus finally encountering each other and hitting one another really hard. Then there was Bronson Reed, who plowed into both men repeatedly to show his dominance. And then there was Jey Uso, the former world champion trying to bounce back from a devastating loss last week to work his way back to Gunther at SummerSlam.

All four men battered each other in and around the ring, with the action picking up in intensity as they started going for their killshots in the closing moments. That’s when everything broke down, with Bron Breakker, Sami Zayn, Penta, and LA Knight all running in to upset the balance, finally leading to Jey toppling Reed and advancing.

The run-ins were fun and tied together, with all three babyfaces having been attacked in the past by the heel stable and seeking revenge. Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes’ entrances, however, felt stapled onto the ending, as if WWE felt like they needed two more crowd pops to close out Raw and get that visual of Cody and Jey standing there together.

Overall though, this was a solid finish to the show and set up an interesting semifinal match for next week.
