5 Ups & 4 Downs from WWE Raw (16 June - Results & Review)

Ups…

5. Well, It Was Going Well…

Clearly, Liv Morgan’s injury is going to throw a wrench in some of the plans that had been laid out in recent weeks, but that shouldn’t nullify what was a solid opening segment to Raw on Monday night.

Morgan and Dominik Mysterio opened the show by name-checking Nikki Bella before turning their attention to Iyo Sky and her Women’s World Championship, which Liv never had an opportunity to regain. This brought out Iyo, who did a fantastic job cutting a live promo.

Sky blasted Morgan for being disrespectful – to Bella and to her – and dared her to try to take the title. Liv, however, wanted the title handed over to her, which Iyo actually did, and then promptly dropkicked and booted Morgan. Dirty Dom got a head kick as well.

This was a simple and effective opening, setting the stage for a Morgan/Sky title program that, unfortunately, might have to be put on ice for a while. Still, this was a pretty hot segment that set the stage nicely.
