5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (4 Dec - Results & Review)

3. Drew Goes Over The Edge

Drew McIntyre
Sami Zayn

For the past couple of months, Drew McIntyre has been slowly moving toward villainous territory, becoming more and more incensed at everyone around him who forgave Jey Uso and have told Drew to just “get over it.”

Even coming out to open Raw, McIntyre slapped hands with fans and played to the crowd a bit, clearly still fancying himself as the righteous man in the land of crazy hypocrites and cowards. He took shots at everyone, seemingly building up a grudge list as long as his arm: Seth Rollins, Jey Uso (he can run to Randy Orton to apologize with his tail tucked between his legs), even a veiled reference to CM Punk.

McIntyre justified his attack on Rollins last week by accusing the World Heavyweight Champion of “trying to pull a fast one” on him by choosing to defend his title Monday against Jey, despite the fact that Drew had beaten Uso the week prior.

And of course, most of McIntyre’s ire was saved for Sami Zayn, who bore the physical brunt of the Scottish Warrior’s attack. McIntyre shelved his compassion and went straight to downright bloodthirsty in not just taking advantage of Sami’s injury, but attacking him backstage to put Zayn out.

That should pretty much end any babyface reaction for Drew, and it should also mark the end of any vacillation between face and heel. Perfectly done.
