5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (7 Nov)

Downs…

4. Coming Off Flat

Damage CTRL Bianca Belair

Well, we got our answer as to how WWE would announce their WarGames matches without William Regal around.

And man, what a letdown.

Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss came out and invited Damage CTRL down to the ring to chat, but a fight broke out before the Raw Women’s Champion could explain things to the group. Afterwards, Belair simply said that this feud between the six has been war, and it was ending at WarGames.

The reveal was anticlimactic, and Bianca, who usually delivers her lines with such conviction, felt flat for such a huge announcement. The result was a crowd that mildly popped for the news, maybe because the rivalry between the two factions hasn’t felt like a “war.”

There’s obviously time to ramp things up a bit more, but this was not the electric reveal we’d been accustomed to in NXT. Maybe Triple H should have seen if he could have borrowed Regal from AEW for one night only.
