5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (8 July - Results & Review)

2. Mami Returns

WWE Raw Dominik Mysterio Rhea Ripley

For the past several weeks, tension has been building within the Judgment Day, particularly regarding Liv Morgan’s infiltration of the group and corruption of Dominik Mysterio. That reached a fever pitch Monday night… just in time for Rhea Ripley to finally return.

Morgan wormed her way into Dom-Dom’s mind (and heart?) through gifts, titles (she helped deliver the World Tag Team Championship) and, finally, his first victory over deadbeat dad Rey Mysterio. Despite his resistance, Dominik finally broke down on Raw and embraced Liv.

Cue Mami.

Pitch-perfect stuff here, with Dirty Dom on the cusp of giving in during the post-match celebration, only for Ripley to make her way to ringside and break things up. The fallout next week should be great, with Rhea able to point out that Morgan admitted from the jump that this was all part of her “revenge tour” against Mami, and Mysterio played right into it.

Another great part of this story: Damian Priest knew Rhea was coming back and seemingly was ready to warn Dominik and company, but once he saw Liv stretching him out, he decided to keep it to himself and left Mysterio out to dry.

After weeks of mostly entertaining antics while treading water, things look to move forward quickly with SummerSlam just a few weeks away, and that should make for some must-watch television.
