5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (1 Nov - Results & Review)
4. All Four Women Brought The Energy
If somebody had served up a list of matches on tap for Friday's SmackDown then said this four-way was match of the night, many might've guffawed. This had all the ingredients to be a messy, overbooked flop that fed into more scruffy carnage at Crown Jewel. Something remarkable happened. Lash Legend vs. Piper Niven vs. IYO SKY vs. Bianca Belair was a certified winner from beginning to end.
This fan would even point to it as a must-see match from this week in wrestling. All four women gave SmackDown's in-ring output some much needed energy. It was only here to hype the four-way tag-team bout for Crown Jewel, but everyone involved can call it a win. High fives all round, please. If the PLE match is anything like this, then we've got an undercard hit on our hands people.
Here's hoping the four extra bodies don't make things too bloated on Saturday, because there's a lot to like if all four teams can figure things out. Best of all, an opportunistic finish with IYO stealing Belair's thunder was smart too. Also, great call from Michael Cole to point out that something similar could happen when Bianca and Jade Cargill's belts are on the line (Graves: "They don't even need to be involved for that to happen!").
Slick commentary, some tasty exchanges between combos like Belair and Legend, Piper and Lash, IYO and everyone. Yeah, this was a winner. Special mention goes out to Legend for keeping it together in such a busy, frantic rush like this too. The NXT star is coming along nicely.
