4. The Gauntlet’s Finish

Here's the upside to the aforementioned Gauntlet.

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria went coast to coast in the match. They'd started as opponents on the 7 April episode of Raw, but are now number one contenders for the Women's Tag-Team Titles. In a cool show of cohesive storytelling, WWE didn't force these ladies to be all high fives and smiles. No, they started off with little chemistry yet managed to build some the longer they had to struggle and fight to survive. That works.

The entire match peaked with a sweet surprise one count off Bayley’s elbow on Piper Niven. Honestly, Niven and Alba Fyre showed enough here that they deserve a deep run in this division after ‘Mania. Lyra and Bayley challenging Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez is absolutely fine, but man, the closing match in this Gauntlet was excellently done and 'Secret Her-vice' take a lot of credit for that.

They're such a solid team, which will come as no shocker to anyone who happened to follow their work on the independent scene. Piper and Alba (as Viper and Kay Lee Ray respectively) had some brutal bouts as rivals in groups like ICW in Scotland, and they've been real-life friends for well over a decade. It'd be nice to see them get their flowers, and the same goes for their leader Chelsea Green.

Everybody knows that the Women’s Tag-Team Titles are never the most important, but this is a decent little short-term story involving Bayley, Lyra, Liv and Raquel that could spin Morgan into challenging for the Women's Intercontinental Title.
