2. Kiana’s Plan Was Flawed Anyway

Generally, unless they're comedy characters, it's a good idea to avoid making heels look daft. On Friday, WWE's writing team failed to come through for Kiana James at all. She tried to hit Michin with “the loaded purse” (as Michael Cole called it) before missing and being rolled up for a quick 3 count. Cool, but there was a glaring flaw in her plan.

James would’ve been disqualified for connecting because the bell had sounded and the match was underway. Wouldn’t it have made more sense for her to try and hit Michin with the purse before the match had officially started? Like, that's such a simple fix, so it's weird the agents laying this one out didn't think of it. The alternative, which was make Kiana look like an idiot, should've been avoided.

She's supposed to be the brains behind Giulia's rise to the Women's United States Title, and she definitely shouldn't be slipping on any banana peels she laid on the ground herself. That's what happened though. Sure, everyone gets what WWE were going for here, but it didn’t really work - Kiana didn’t need to look like a fool.

Michin isn’t a great fit as challenger for Giulia anyway. She's been here, done this role opposite Chelsea Green previously, and it's just so lazy to book her in exactly the same slot against the latest champ. Fans aren't into Michin much, largely because they've been given no reason to really care about her character or anything she does.

No amount of quick roll up wins over women like James will change that.
