5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 14)

2. Cheat To Win?

GUNTHER Xavier Woods

WWE didn't do an awesome job of explaining why Woods cheated to beat LA either. Saying that, the writers failed to provide adequate reasoning for why Xavier obnoxiously interrupted Imperium's promo time with his trombone. His trombone, by God!

Being honest, Woods came out of SmackDown looking more like a bratty heel than a game babyface seeking the chance to make headlines without his buddies. This was some seriously wobbly character work; it was 2015 heel Woods. Y'know, when New Day were aggravating baddies instead of beloved goodies?

Sure, Xavier and GUNTHER will have a good match next week, but WWE best be careful with the presentation. Woods is the clear underdog in-ring against the chop machine champion, and having him go into that scenario by cheating to beat LA Knight isn't too promising.

Careful, WWE.
