5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 2)

Ups...

5. Gimmick Match = Spotlight

Apollo Crews
WWE

Christ knows what a "Nigerian Drum Fight" will look like in WWE.

That's what Apollo Crews challenged Big E to on this week's SmackDown though, and it looks like it'll happen on night two at 'Mania. It could be another cinematic-style brawl, or it could just be a 'No DQ' scrap with some extra (themed) bells and whistles that fit Crews' new gimmick.

Whatever happens, it'll give these lads some much-needed spotlight. They're getting to work a stipulation bout on the biggest pay-per-view of the year, which is a huge leap forwards for Apollo especially. It's also good that WWE know another straight-up one-on-one battle with rules wouldn't cut it after recent events between the pair.

They need to get violent. Perhaps unfortunately, Crews also needs to be sacrificed so E's Intercontinental Title run can proceed uninterrupted. There's just no way they should be thinking about taking that belt off his shoulders right now.
