5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 2 - Results & Review)

2. The Good Side

The Rock Roman Reigns
WWE.com

Your writer would be a total hypocrite if he outright bashed WWE for booking The Rock vs. Roman Reigns whenever the former's busy schedule can fit it in, because he's been beating that drum for years. It's a match many want to see, that's for sure, and the pop Rock received tells its own story.

It's nice Trips is finally getting this one inside a company ring.

Sure, it'd be way better if it wasn't coming at the expense of Cody Rhodes and the entire Royal Rumble match, but see the 'Downs' section for that complaint. This is the positive side to WWE's decision. The Rock trying to cut down Roman's despotic Bloodline power trip is years in the making, after all.

Watch SmackDown back and you'll see people staring in awe around ringside as Roman held his belt aloft in front of Rocky. Yes, yes you are allowed to be p*ssed for Cody, but WWE is a business. They're about to generate so much mainstream interest here, and that's why they've pulled the trigger.

There's also a small chance WWE books Rock vs. Roman on night one at 'Mania, then lets Cody "finish the story" come night two. Just a thought!
